Ohio has announced county-level sales and use tax rate changes that go into effect on April 1, 2025. These sales tax regulatory updates directly impact motor vehicle dealers in the following counties:
🔹 Delaware County
🔹 Fairfield County
🔹 Franklin County
🔹 Licking County
🔹 Union County
🛑 Ohio Legislation Updates for Car Dealers – Effective April 9, 2025
Ohio now allows licensed motor vehicle dealers to sell vehicles with tampered emissions systems only to other licensed dealers at auction.
Retail sale of these vehicles remains strictly prohibited.
This bill eliminates the Ohio motor vehicle salesperson license requirement. However:
